Subject: Website on UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development" (UNDESD)

Dear Colleague,

As you are aware, the Decade 2005 – 2014 has been declared as the “UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development” (UNDESD). The goal of the UNDESD is to integrate the principles, values and practices of Sustainable Development into all aspects of education and learning.

CEE has recently developed a website in order to promote public awareness and engage a large number of stakeholders to participate actively and contribute to the Decade. This website www.desd.org aims at establishing a strong online community for networking and sharing of knowledge on Sustainable Development by linking learners, practitioners, researchers, policy-makers and activists. Apart from providing information and resources on the Decade, this website would be a knowledge platform to discuss ESD issues and seek expert advice in the case of problem areas. These discussions would then be channeled into actionable objectives to lay a road-map for the Decade.

Your inputs in the form of discussion and debates in the website would contribute greatly towards the development of the knowledge platform that we hope the website will create. We invite you to participate in the debates and discussions in order to strengthen Education for Sustainable Development.
